GLOBAL SHOES Well Geared Up

13 to 15 March 2013 sees GLOBAL SHOES – leading trade show for sourcing being held concurrently with GDS at Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre. In Halls 8a and 8b 300 exhibitors from some 15 countries will present the entire spectrum of the international volume market. With strong participation from market leaders like Y. Yessi, Cortina China, Studio 56, Jiesi and Gaflana, as well as the Council for Leather Exports India, the fair is well geared up – once again underlining its importance as a leading trade fair for volume suppliers and OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers). Not only its proximity to GDS but also the location of Düsseldorf in the heart of Europe makes GLOBAL SHOES particularly attractive for exhibitors and visitors alike. According to the World Footwear Yearbook jointly published by the APICCAPS and GDS, the average price for shoes in Europe, for instance, is 30% higher than in the USA or South America. Furthermore, some 25% of the global share of shoe sales are effected within a 2,500 kilometre radius around Düsseldorf.

Back Again: Design Exchange Area
Launched at the last GLOBAL SHOES the Design Exchange Area will be entering its second round next spring, once again bringing designers, producers and customers together. The concept area is centrally located between GLOBAL SHOES and GDS. Some 15 internationally recognised designers and design offices from Italy will be presenting their latest ideas and designs here. Furthermore, new collection items can be acquired here at source. The Design Exchange Area also brokers links to designers for planned collections and provides contact with producers.
